Public expectations and officers’ problems
While on the one hand the public is thinking that this change will improve the administration at the ground level, on the other hand many officers are confused. Especially those officers who did not want transfer due to family or educational reasons.
An officer said on the condition of anonymity:
We were shocked to receive the information of transfer so late in the night. No time to prepare, no time to inform the family. This method is not humane.”
Conclusion: New policy, new message
This new transfer policy of the Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav government is not only a tough administrative decision, but it also indicates the future political and administrative direction. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s clear indication is – no post is permanent, and accountability is the biggest value.
If this policy is implemented properly, it can give a new direction to the administration of the state. But if it is used for political control and personal gain, then its effect can be adverse on the public and the system.
