Guwahati, February 22, 2025 – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Reliance Consumer Products Limited’s (RCPL) new Campa and beverages bottling plant in Changsari, near Guwahati. Developed in collaboration with Jericho Foods and Beverages, this state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone in strengthening the beverage industry in Northeast India.

A Major Boost for Assam’s Economy

Spanning over 600,000 square feet, the bottling plant is one of the largest in the region and is expected to generate employment opportunities for around 1,300 people in Assam. The facility has an initial production capacity exceeding 100 million liters of carbonated soft drinks and nearly 180 million liters of packaged drinking water annually.

Chief Minister Sarma, speaking at the inauguration, highlighted the affordability and quality of Campa’s products. “Campa’s products are available at an affordable price without compromising on quality, which is at par with global standards. This is a great development for the people of Assam,” he stated.

Expanding Beverage Portfolio

The facility will manufacture RCPL’s key beverage brands, including Campa Cola, Campa Orange, Campa Lemon, Power Up, and packaged drinking water under the Independence and Sure Water brands. While primarily serving Assam, Northeast India, and North Bengal, the plant is also equipped to supply other markets as required.

Strategic Vision for Growth

Ketan Mody, Chief Operating Officer of RCPL, emphasized the company’s long-term vision, saying, “Our expansion in the region will not only enhance accessibility to our beverages but also drive local economic growth by creating employment and business opportunities.”

Ashis Agarwal, founder of Jericho Foods and Beverages, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “This world-class Campa bottling plant in Guwahati is a proud milestone for our company as we contribute to the region’s industrial progress.”

A Step Towards Industrial Development

Reliance’s investment in Assam’s manufacturing sector underscores its commitment to expanding local production and reviving India’s heritage brands. The plant is expected to further bolster the state’s industrial development, positioning Guwahati as a key hub for the beverage industry.

With this launch, RCPL reinforces its presence in Northeast India, strengthening supply chains and ensuring consumers have greater access to high-quality, homegrown beverage brands.
